Agora Privacy Policy
Agora is a self-hosted chat application — we do not collect, store, or sell any of your data. The apps are clients for a server you (or someone you trust) run; your data goes to that server and nowhere else.

Data the apps collect
None. The iOS and desktop apps contain no analytics, no advertising, no tracking, and no third-party data-collection SDKs. The developer operates no backend that receives content or usage data.
Where your data lives
Messages, attachments, groups, channels, and read state are stored on the Agora server the user configures — operated by them, not the app developer. The server address and sign-in token are stored in the device's secure keychain.
Sign in with Apple and Google
Used solely to prove identity to the user's own server; tokens are verified and immediately discarded, never stored, and nothing is shared with the developer. Apple's "Hide My Email" relay is supported.
Notifications, microphone and photos
Push notifications come from the user's own server via Expo push (APNs/FCM); microphone is used only for voice messages/live voice; photos/camera only when attaching an image.
AI agents and AI features
The apps contain no AI models or AI SDKs and never send data to any AI service directly. All AI runs server-side, configured by the server operator: agents are clearly labeled with an agent avatar; voice transcription/speech uses OpenAI's API only if the operator configured a key; AI search answers use Anthropic's Claude API only if configured. Data flow is always app → user's chosen server → the providers that server's operator configured.
Deleting your account and data
Settings → Delete account permanently removes messages, attachments, stars, and read history from the server and revokes all sessions.
Children
Not directed at children under 13; collects no information from anyone.
